Cellulite

The term cellulite refers to fat deposits that are located underneath the skin; they cause the skin to appear dimpled. Cellulite can occur in anyone, but it is more commonly found in women. It is more commonly seen among women since the fat is found within large chambers that are separated by numerous columns of collagen fibers.

Individuals who have cellulite may experience such symptoms as the area with the cellulite being painful when touched, stretch marks, wrinkles, and when the area is touched they may be able to feel micro or macro nodules.

The theory about why cellulite is caused is still being debated, but some professionals believe that it occurs due to a problem with an individual’s fat cells. Other professionals believe that cellulite can be attributed to toxins within the system. Some think that the problem is caused by hormones. In the end the main thing on an individual’s mind that has cellulite is not what caused it, but how they can get rid of it.

In order to try to reduce the appearance of cellulite one could try reducing the amount of calories that they consume. By eating less food individuals will see better weight loss results. When an individual looses weight their fat boxes will also shrink in the process which partly contributes to the growth and development of cellulite throughout your body. Individuals should set a goal to only consume between 1,200 and 1,500 calories a day which can be accomplished easily by eating a lot of vegetables, fruit, and foods that are high in protein and low in fat.

Cutting down on your body’s fluid retention will also help with the goal of reducing cellulite. It has been found that the area of the body that has cellulite present has a higher amount of cells that attract water. Excess fluids within your body will gravitate towards these cells that attract water which will cause swelling that will result in cellulite. A great way that individuals can reduce their fluid retention is by reducing the amount of sodium that they consume and make sure to drink at least eight glasses of water daily in order to flush out their system. It is also important to include foods in your diet that help to fight off cellulite; these foods are mostly fruits and vegetables.
